In the early hours of Saturday, February 21, 2026, Carly Carter of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in her sleep at just 22 years old. Her sudden passing has left her family, friends, and the broader faith community in deep mourning as they come to terms with the loss of a young woman whose life radiated joy, conviction, and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ.
Carly was the beloved daughter of Charlotte and Kevin Carter and a cherished sister to her younger brother. Her death has profoundly impacted not only her immediate family but also an extensive circle of friends, church members, and young women whose lives she touched through her ministry and mentorship.
A Life Rooted in Faith and Purpose
Those who knew Carly describe her as a light — vibrant, compassionate, and spiritually grounded beyond her years. Her faith was not simply a belief but a way of life. She adored Jesus with wholehearted devotion and made it her mission to help others understand their identity and worth through Him.
Carly had recently launched Faith & Fairytales, a princess party business designed to combine the wonder of childhood imagination with biblical truth. The venture reflected her heart perfectly — creative, joyful, and centered on sharing the message of Christ in accessible and uplifting ways.
At the time of her passing, Carly was attending online classes at Liberty University. She was also working at SweetHaven and actively involved with UniteUS. Her passion for missionary work had taken her across the world, where she shared her faith and served communities in need.
In August 2025, Carly’s path crossed with Christian singer Anne Wilson at a pickleball social in Franklin. What began as a casual meeting quickly developed into a meaningful friendship and ministry partnership. Carly soon joined Wilson on the road to help lead “Hey Girl Nation,” praying with and ministering to young women at shows across the country.
Anne Wilson shared in a heartfelt tribute that Carly was “a light for Christ like I’ve never seen before,” recalling her steadfast prayer life and her desire to grow closer to Jesus above all else. Before every show, Carly would text asking if prayer was needed — a reflection of her spiritual awareness and servant’s heart.
A Community in Grief
Since news of her passing, tributes have poured in from friends, supporters, and members of the Franklin community. Many have described her as kind, hilarious, beautiful inside and out, and “full of JOY.”
Friends have asked for continued prayers for the Carter family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Community members who did not personally know Carly have also expressed support, emphasizing the impact of her testimony and the faith-filled legacy she leaves behind.
While the grief is heavy, those closest to her have expressed comfort in their belief that she is now in the presence of the “King of Kings and Lord of Lords,” a phrase frequently shared in tributes honoring her life.
Funeral Arrangements and GoFundMe Support
A GoFundMe campaign has been established by Kristin Sanderson, Carly’s cousin, to assist Charlotte and Kevin Carter with funeral arrangements, travel expenses, and related costs associated with bringing Carly home. Once arrangements are finalized, service details will be shared with family and friends.
Supporters are encouraged to keep the Carter family in prayer and to contribute or share the fundraiser if they feel led.
Carly Carter’s time on earth was brief, but her impact was profound. Her devotion, courage, and joyful faith will continue to inspire those who knew her personally and the many more who learn of her story. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
